A recent study from a well-known homebuilders association found that most buyers are willing to consider homes without a formal living room. That's probably because the popularity of other rooms such as the den or family room has rendered the formal living room impractical. Instead most buyers would prefer a larger family room or even expanding the kitchen and dining areas.
