While many Americans believe the Empire State Building is the largest building in North America, Canada actually has the tallest commercial structure in the world. The CN (Canadian National) Tower rises 182 stories over downtown Toronto. Originally built in 1976 as a communications structure, the tower was also designed as a monument to Canadian industry and ingenuity, and is a symbol of national pride for our neighbors to the north.
